Little Sister needed help landing her first Big Musky (49"). Hooked on a jig with a 15lb line fishin walleye and 20 min later I happily bent the net bringing it in the boat.

Thank you for holding it close to your bodies. Too many people ruin good pictures by trying to make the fish look bigger than it actually is. Great fish!

Jesus. She needs to stop fishing for musky while she’s ahead. What a way to jump into the water!

Wow - I don't know much about muskies as I live on he weat coast. Would this be a fish of a lifetime?? Or do they commonly get this large?

Minimum keeping length around me is 50". Its not rare for them to be bigger but a lot of people have to throw theirs back but it's like catching a 8+lbs bass I think.

I used to fish pike every day when I lived in Canada, I threw tens of thousands of casts and if I ever hooked into a pike this big I'd probably need new underwear. I know musky get bigger but this fish is still a beast many people will never attain.

It’s not the fish of a lifetime for people that target muskies a lot. But for non Muskie fishermen it probably is.

Muskie fisherman here.. It's common to catch a fish this big and even bigger in the many lakes I fish. Common in a sense that for one lake if you catch a muskie it's more than likely 46"-55" but you might spend a week or more of fishing until you get one.
