Good morning g gang. Real late start fir me today. No plans, yesterday's boat ride got postponed for thunder showers in the afternoon, but they didn't show up until 2000 hours, then it poured. Have a great day everyone.

55* now, 76* later, calm wind, a nice day.

Whitey, you have a big job to do, not so hard but it does take a lot of time. Oh well, it can be a fun time.

I have to go down to the C-Pac people and talk to them for a while at 7:45 this morning. It's my annual visit. Then I have an appt. at 12:40 with the Geek Squad at Best Buy for some computer work that I want to have done. That will take up most of the day. I'll make a beer run in between the C-Pac people and the Geek Squad. I save about $5.00 a case by buying beer in WI. rather in MN. It must be a tax thing.

Have a good one.

Do the fish bite in Port Orchard when it's 94 DD? If they do, send some them to east TN.

Well, buddy. I’m a Kokanee fisherman and they are a cold water fish. So when it gets hot they just might go a little deeper. They look for a 56 degree temperature area because that’s where their food source (plankton) hangs out. The lake that I fish, I target 40 to 50’. But I’d love to help you out. If only I could. But you just keep after them. I know it’s frustrating not catching anything, but just enjoy getting out there. I’m wishing you the best of luck, my friend… 🐟on

Greg, fish as early…and as deep as you can. Those wacky rigged worms, NEKO or drop shot rigged baits can be cast pretty far. Fish them painfully slow, too!
Good luck!

Last year at this time we had pretty good luck with smallmouth using minnows about three to five feet down. Not this year. It's been hot, humid with a lot of rain. Nobody fishing this dock with us is catching much of anything. That includes fishing 40 to 60 feet down or going two or three down. Last year they were very active breaking top water. This year, very little. We have guys casting top water, using worms and minnows, a variety of ideas. Shoreline or dock fishing here is very hit and miss. Having a big day or approaching limit would be extremely rare. I've fished a 45 mile area in every direction around my home. The results are essentially the same. I do appreciate the suggestions and I do try some of them.

Try “Gulp” 6” worms wacky rig, under a bobber, near grass in the shade. Works for me!
