Will be day trip from Missoula to Darby (and a little farther) and would like to get a 1 day fish license. Any suggestions on fishing the bitterroot river?
Thanks.

Hey Ron, welcome to the stage.
You might try to PM JB134. He fishes Montana and might be able to help you out. OR you could go to the top of the page and click on "User List" and then type in Montana and PM some of the guys FROM Missoula or NW Montana.

That’s trout country. Medium gear with panther Martin spinners in yellow with red dots and a gold or silver blade or Jake’s spinners. 6 to 8 pound mono works great. I’ve fished the bitter root but it’s been a few years and my guess is it still works like it did then. Good luck.
