I've been trolling a #5 Blue Tiger Flicker Shad and even in this heat, catch Crappie and Bass. Anyone else using and what color?

Got introduced in the Flickershad two yrs.ago.
A big producing bait.
I put the old favorite Shad rap back on, not as good.
A tighter action on Flickershad?
96 hete today, I fish a small lake, water temps in mid 80’s, and I’ll be throwing and trolling Flickershad.
I use the purple Flickershad.

This, thats what I'm hearing from a lot of central Indiana fishermen. Just got my first #7 purple can't wait to hit the water.

I have never used these. Sounds like I should give them a try. Thanks for the recommendation

The Flicker Shad is an excellent crank bait. It is the number one producer on Lake Pepin near me. It out fishes the Shad Rap (which is a good lure) while trolling on 4 out of 5 days for walleyes for me.

I have made quite an investment in them the past few years, because they simply work! Firetiger is the best one for me with the walleyes on Pepin / Upper Mississippi River, but I have caught fish on every color I have tried!

When you say trolling, what speed, and how deep are they going? Can you target depths with a little weight or how much line you are letting out behind the boat?

Using my trolling motor on #2 and crank is running 6 to 7 ft. If I go with the #7 flicker it runs 11 to 13 ft.

They are a go to for walleye on Green Bay. Assorted colors and both sizes produce.

Generally long line when trolling, 6’-8’ deep.
Haven’t experimented with small weights on line.
Have you, what type?

I troll with them anywhere from 0.8 MPH to 2.2 MPH (although 1.1 - 1.5 MPH is my go to speed zone).

When deeper than 8 feet, I troll them with lead core or a three way with a weight ... no problem getting 17-22 feet down with those methods.

Yes I like that size, trolling and cast. Fire tiger and perch.

Speed varies lots of variables. You can get the baits that run at different depths, can add weight too. Amount of line out gets it down deeper too, I think. No expert here, always learning and trying to figure it out
