I went out Wednesday morning by myself fishing in Sarasota Bay. I am a member of Waves Boat club and I reserved a boat and took off to the Phillipy creek inlet. I was trying out a different rig sat up and it worked quite well. I used the setup Captain Scott showed me. I caught mangrove snappers, blow fish and catfish. All of them on shrimp. I limited out on the mangrove snappers early but kept fishing and releasing into the afternoon.

Good catching! And a limit to boot! Red snapper is good eating I can only imagine the mangrove are just as good?

Love those Snapper. Never ate a porkypine puffer but I do eat the southern ones. Go to West Palm Beach every labor day. Here's one.

Yes, they are very good eating, but smaller than the red snapper we catch here off shore.

Looks like a great day! Snappers yummy! Blowfish are freaky. Just read about saltwater catfish. Did not know.
