Sent my crosswater rod into Redington for repair but was told they cannot repair it. It's more than a year old so they can't replace it via warranty. They are willing to send me a 20% of coupon as a result so I might go with another Redington rod. Wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a 5 wt, 8'6" or 9' rod around $150.

Ive tried lots of rods at that price point and I like the TFO Pro II for all around fishing.
The Redington Classic Trout is in that price range and I prefer it for fishing trout streams. Really nice to chuck dries and nymphs, I also threw up to size 6 buggers with ease. It has a lifetime warranty IIRC. $45 to repair them if you break them doing dumb things like chasing channel cats with a 3wt, I know this.

I'm mostly going to be fishing trout streams. Maybe the occasional trip to a bass pond. Turns out the discount through Redington is 40% so I will most likely go with the CT.
