I'm gonna head up to Mashapaug Friday afternoon. I'm hoping the evening-early night bite will be on in a place with no high speed boat traffic. Technically the State Park where the ramp is located, is only open from 8am till sunset. I was told by the Rangers (only there on weekends) last year, that fishermen are allowed to enter early and stay late. I guess Walleye guys fish there through the night. Hopefully I won't run into any Black Bears when hauling out.

Sounds like a pretty good plan Fred. This weather and the boat traffic are really playing heck on the fishing. Good luck and stay away from the wildlife

Thanks Mark. The ramp is about a mile into the park, and I never looked around for any lights. Hopefully there's one in the parking lot anyway. I hope that mosquitos are the only wildlife I see except for fish.

Thanks Terry. Hopefully won't see anything bigger than bugs, on land anyway.

My grandson went night fishing with lures for the first time Tuesday night and told me that it scared him when bass struck the topwater lure, I warned him and he said by the time he got over it the first time he missed the hit. Lol, I asked if it gave him a skid in his skivves, he just looked at me funny

That's why I always tell seniors, night fishing for the first time, to take their heart meds before they go. The first blowup will stop your heart! LOL.Hopefully your gs will be prepared next time and won't need a spare pair.

Thanks Matt. I'm getting used to it. Everywhere is less crowded on the weekdays, and nights.
