Hi all
I’m real new to this sight. I’ve been talking with a great guy about Table Rock I fish there and Beaver. I’m new to both lakes and bass fishing. I got my first BCB just 4 months ago. It’s old but in good shape. It’s a 1991 Pantera 2 with a 150HP Evinrude.
I’d like to find some good spots on beaver or just some stuff to throw and when to throw them. I don’t expect anyone to tell me where the honey holes are but any help and info I would appreciate it.
Hope everyone is beating the heat.
I went out last Saturday night but only caught 2 fish.
I tried jigs, swim baits and spinner baits.
I stayed in 1’ - 20’ of water.

Welcome to the Stage Basscat. We've got several Table rock Sharpies on the Stage, not sure if they know Beaver Lake. They'll be along. Topwater is always a go to at night, so give it a try. Buzzbaits, Jitterbugs, Hula Poppers should all produce from dusk into the night. Until the others find your post, Good Luck and Tight Lines.

Thank you for the reply
I will give top water a try. I don’t have any jitterbugs so that’s a good reason to stop at the bait store.

You're welcome. Arbogast has sets of 3 lures, either 2 Hula Poppers and 1 Jitterbug, or 2 Jitterbugs and 1 Hula Popper. They only cost about $8. They mix up the colors as well, so its a good way to build up your arsenal.

This may sound bad but how do you run a jitterbug or a hula popper?
Like I said I’m new to bass fishing.

They're both a stop and go retrieve. Jitterbug, cast it out, and let it sit until the rings on the water subside, then give it a couple cranks to get the waddling action going, (you will hear it gurgling), then stop for a minute, and repeat. If that doesn't work, after the initial stop,do a slow steady retrieve at the proper pace so you hear the gurgling noise.
Hula popper, cast and wait for the rings to subside, then take up any slack and twitch your rod so that the cupped face of the lure makes a popping sound and spits water forward. Do that 1 or 2 times and pause for the rings to subside and then repeat. Very often they will hit it on the pause, so be ready to set the hook! If they're in the area, it's the most exciting way to catch Bass. Take your heart meds before you go. LOL.

Basscat91.... 1st, Welcome to the Stage. Stopping @ the bait shop is always a good idea, but the coffee in some of those places......But, they're the angler's general store. Bait, tackle, photo board, rumor mill, social club, info center, just about everything to make a fisherperson happy. Only thing I would like that I don't see is an old timer ( like me ) whittle away on a branch. What's he makin' ? Maybe just chips.
To the point, though.. Jitterbugs STILL work, after all these years of exposure, Bass, Pickerel, and Pike are still suckers for them. What do they think it is, frog, mouse, dying fish, injured bird, who knows, but they eat it, and that's what counts. Good Luck.
