I want to share some good information. I target these fish 3 x a week. I do this in the river, fishing on a pier. Bait, small pcs of frozen shrimp. Hook, # 8 fresh water gold long shank. Leader, 10 lb. Invisible 12 inch long. Small barrel swivel. Last but not least a 1/2 oz slide sinker. I fish this rig almost directly down or within 10 ft. Of the dock. I fish this way on a ultra light Ugly Stick with a small spinning reel. 4 to 8lb. test. I am know as the perch guy. O did I mention they taste so good. I fillet them, using an electric knife, 50 per hour.
