Caught a spawning female. Nothing better than snakehead caviar. A breakfast of home made whole wheat bagel with cream cheese, onions and snakehead caviar.

Hope we're fishing next to you someday. We'll take the roe. Snakehead caviar is now selling for over $200. a pound.

It would be fun to catch one with you, for sure! We may need a bunch to finance the trip, though 😂

Very cool...nice catch! I think the snakehead gets a "bad rap" just due to the name. I wonder if we could rename it to something pleasant and attractive!

I know a lot of folks enjoy dining on fish eggs from other species and they seem to enjoy them. As for me, I'm with OJ...and please take no offense. Even though I eat chicken eggs, I will pass on fish eggs. That is some pretty expensive roe at $200 per pound! We all have a kaleidoscope of interests, and that makes for some diverse experiences and tastes...which is a "good thing"!

I agree Yaker. I’d like to catch one and try the meat but I’m not a fan of roe.

Yes...I have been hearing good things about how delicious they are. If I ever find myself in a region where they are available, I would definitely go after some!

Nice, funny thing grew up eating them as a delicacy ( I didn't care for them as a child but what are you going to tell your folks who are trying to share something really good with you) but I enjoy many different types of fish eggs now. They have so many different textures and flavors.

Thanks for sharing!!! If I ever catch a Snakehead, I will definitely try that!!!!
Big fish!!!

My dad, Thirsty, used to eat rattlesnakes, but I passed on that, and I think I will do the same with the snakehead caviar. No offense, AKnaturally, to each his own.

This was caught at Blackwater near Cambridge, Md. using minnows.
