Caught 5 and 3 lb common carp with ShopRite canned whole kernel corn on a long shank #4 gold hook and 4 lb test line during an algae bloom and rain storm in 94 degrees Robert G Martin Lake this evening. Both fish fought hard. It rained the past three evenings while I was fishing. Landed 41 carp this year. A shorebird was in my spot when I arrived. Fall migration has begun.

Nice job. Who got the most fish? You or the bird?

Very nice! Definitely a great fighter!

I took a shoreline paddle in my kayak yesterday and noticed numerous hefty sized carp hanging in very shallow water (3' to 6'). I did not have a rod with me but it gives me the idea of going back with some bait under a bobber and just parking out offshore awaiting a passerby!

Thanks for your story and great photos!

I think that the flock of 4 great blue heron caught the most fish ๐ŸŸ but I won the pool.

NJ, Theyโ€™re fun to catch I guess, but they be ugly as hell, so to speak.

That is some fishing bring those in on 4 lb line, you really need to know what you are doing, tons of fun. I use feed corn that I boil to soften it up some stays on the hook a lot better. I am ashamed to tell you but I use 30lb braid and 17 lb. leader on my carp. Thanks for the picks

I can't say much for the looks of a bone fish, and a tarpon is just an uneatable giant herring. people use colorful carp (coy) to decorate their high budget mansions. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally think Jackson Pollock and Gauguin paintings suck. I am millions of dollars of the mark, but what do I know

Do you have any idea how many millions of dollars are spent by women on Botox to have puffed lips like that? With enough feedback, maybe we can convince you that carp are just plain HOT
