I’m planning a trip to Possum Kingdom in Texas and would like to know best places to catch catfish, and or bass? What types of bait should I use for the catfish and best way to set up my poles? Weight up the line then the bait at the bottom? What types of lures for the bass? Keep in mind that most of the fishing will be done from the bank at the state park side of the lake. Any information and help would be appreciated.

chicken liver is good, but hard to keep on hook. dead shrimp too.or some nasty catfish bait premade. If theres not much current you can rig many ways. easiest is a 1 oz or 2 pyramid sinker , and a 3 way swivel. With the sinker below on a ring of the swivel and the leader w/ hook 18" above. For bass , if you gonna be on the bank zoom trick worms work good 2/0 offset worm hook. green pumpkin . some crank baits will work too , but may lose them if fishing from shore .

Hi Bob welcome,

The freshest chicken livers you can get no current no weight ultra light rig large line capacity reel cast easy livers will stay on the hook.

If you can get in with a manager at a chiken restaurant they get livers that have only been out 3 days or so and never frozen, they work great.

Look for a hollow tube catfish lure and pack inside with homemade mix! Commercial catters use them!
