My oldest son came to visit so we spent the day fishing. Going again today. Time spent with family is the best investment a person could make. We caught 18 rainbow trout and 6 bull trout. All released. Going bass fishing today on the Snake River in Hell’s canyon👍

👍👍Wonderful! I savor those moments because they're getting fewer and farther between. (and right on cue, Cat's in a Cradle is playing in my head )

Count your blessings. My children don't fish, nor hunt anymore. My oldest had been hunting with me since he was two, now he sees the ladies. Also he is 16hrs away. My second is 20hrs away and my baby girl, is 24hrs away.

We didn’t end up on the Snake yesterday Fred. Forecast was triple digits down there so we fished the big salmon instead. It was only 98 degrees there😂 Rafters ran us off but my son caught a couple small mouth early. Released but around two pounders. 16 inches. Headed to a high mountain lake this afternoon. Mostly to get out of the heat and maybe catch a fish or two. There’s small perch and rainbows up there so I’m sure my son will get a line wet up there. He’s a fishing nut. He’ll fish all day without a bite and love every second of it. We had a couple straggler king salmon we could see in the little salmon river yesterday that would follow our spinners about 10 feet EVERY cast but just wouldn’t hit em. He kept after that for about 4 hours and never did get one to hit. Small ones probably 7 or 8 pounders just relaxing in the heat trying to make it up to the hatchery. They’re not interested in eat anything right now.

The Snake didn’t happen Hunt. Too hot and too many rattle snakes down there already. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks a lot guys. We had another great day today. Caught 14 perch at lost lake here in Idaho and a brook trout. Big fish of the day was my monster perch. 7 incher😂. Everything is still swimming👍. He’s headed home tonight after dinner☹️
