spillway fishing

I fish at Beech Fork lake in WV and there is a spillway. Alot of people fish there. Most of the time the water will push my bobber over to the right and end up at the bank. I use light fishing rigs because I've seen crappies taken from there. If I use heavier sinkers & lures they hang up on rocks below. There is quite a bit of success with live bait, but I do not want to use live bait. Any pointers to help me?

Welcome to the Forum, maybe a bottom bouncer with a floater jig?

Tube jig chartreuse crappie nibbles under your bobber.
