I Sandhill crane hunted with a fellow down in Lawton, Ok that is also a fishing guide for walleyes. He holds the state record and is usually booked a year out.

Thank you, Hunt, but you didn't answer the question. Are they many walleye in OK.? I mean, can you catch them in most of the lakes and streams? I'm thinking that the water temp. would be too warm. But I could be all wet! MO. is a great trout fishing state.

Flyguy, Oklahoma doesn't have the numbers of walleye found in many other states but we do have them in many rivers & lakes. We also have sauger & saugeye. Most people just don't target walleye. It's bass, crappie & catfish that get the fishing pressure. I would wager that most native Okie's that claim to be fishermen have never tasted walleye. Oklahoma also has one lake with a reproducing population of northern pike. The state record is 35 pounds.

Lots of people searching derp for the Walleye deep but try shallow. 8 feet of water! Saugeye in 16-20 feet.
