Anybody use the trout magnets? or mini magnets?
What are they? Never heard of them.
and they have mini ones , like tiny
Thanks! I seem to recall something similar back in the late 80's and a friend gave me a set. Tried and tried with them but no real success. Been fishing for trout all my life and have caught many. Prolly more than my share even, but as far as artificials go have only succeeded with flies and hardware.
we have no freshwater trout ,except the little ones stocked in the middle of winter, and 1/16 oz roostertails work for them,,,,, I was thinking of the trout magnet for panfish and super finess bass
I can think of no reason they shouldn't work. Especially for bluegill and crappie. I'm not much of a bass fisherman. We have a lot of smallmouth here but my catching of them has been limited to live bait. Specifically nightcrawlers. If you should use this system for the panfish I would be very interested to know your results. ๐ Much luck good fishing......

I could be missing something here. I had never heard of the trout magnet until I started following this forum. I usually fly fish trout the Driftless Area but I have fly fished ND., SD., MT., WY., UT., WI., IA., MO., & AK. I have never run into a fellow trout fisherman using a trout magnet. We do have a lot of local trout fishermen who jig fish trout using a spinning rod. They are using a 1/32 oz. jig, usually dark colored. I look at it as basically the same as my bead head. Tell me guys, am I missing something?

My thinking is that it's another lure idea to appeal to fishermen not fish. Happens a lot! ๐
you are probably right on all accounts . but I love discovering and talking about different artificials.
Bridgeman neat vid,, makes me wish we had trout down here.
I use them all the time, they work great on freshly stocked trout in lakes. I add a wax worm to the hook and drop off a bobber 1- 3 feet , also one of my go to lures for panfish( crappie, gills, perch and sunfish) in the spring. They also work great on the ice jigging for panfish and trout . My number one go to bait for above listed fishing.
