When i was coming in off the water this morning at remote location launch site, i overheard two fishers talking about
some guy last week locked his keys in the truck while un loading his boat into the water.

4 other boaters showed up in the mean time getting rather pissed because the next location to launch didn't open until 8am. Or another location was quite undesirable to launch from when your go to spot can be seen from where you stand.

So as i backed on down the ramp, i lowered the window too. Also when i hit the waters edge turned my wheels far left just in case it kicked out of park it would hit the side wall of the ramp.

What do you all do at the ramp?

I do the same crank wheel set park brake and even if cold I always put windows down

Just things to be safe and sure I don’t get locked out or anything else that’s not so good

Hi Bob. I have my truck programmed to unlock the drivers door when you put it in park. If it's not real hot, the 2 front windows are open. If its hot, they're closed with the air on. Back in, set the E-brake, and put it in park. I also carry my spare key and fob in a different pocket than the one I'm using.

I would do the park brake but for some reason the sensor says it is still in park when it isn't. But yes that's a good idea too D T.

Good idea with the spare key. I could easily put mine in the yak. Another good idea on the programming. That is until a chip goes up.

There's an adjustment on the little switch on the brake pedal.

2013 F150. Speaking of rust. All was good in NC not a drop or bubble of rust anywhere. This past spring sanded down both rear wheel well fender areas to bare metal. 3 thin coats of primer, 3 thin coats of close as possible red paint.

Sure enough rust came back. I give up, it is what it is. The neighbors don't like it, T S.

Most of mine is underneath, except for the bumpers, and drivers side rocker panel. I've washed mine 2x since the trip and still have Red Pennsylvania mud in the wheelwells.LOL.

I’ve got a buddy from the shop and when we take his boat out he doesn’t allow me to assist with the launch or pull out. Got his own system and is sticking to it.

Me too Brad. I'm usually alone but sometimes friends have their boats too, and offer to help. I find that if I do the same thing every time, nothing gets forgotten.

Plumb and Fred:

Once you have prepped the area coat with Ospho then your primer coats. It will turn black if it is coated properly.
