A man took me fishin when I was a kid,
The things that he taught me, well learnt.
We went out at night,
A bit of a fright,
No chance of us gettin sunburnt.
We didn't throw Hoodlers or buzzers or crankers,
Just long purple worms, Texas-style.
His methods were slower,
Than I'd rather go-er,
But big'ns hit hard, so we'd smile.
Half century ago, a man from the city,
Came often to fish at The Rock.
I'm thankful he took me,
And never forsook me,
Or leave me alone at the dock.
Pictures are from yesterday, 10 a.m, as rumors of thunderstorms were out there ahead of badly needed temporary cool down. 1 hour of catchin time, got 14 with 5 keeper-types, then *raspberries*, they went home.
