The wife tested positive for the COVID over the weekend so I'm out of work for the week... She is doing fine, went to the doctor right off and got the new anti viral meds, after 24 hours the only negative was she was tired, and slept all day... The next day she was back up, feeling good and back to being active with absolutely no symptoms... I have had no symptoms at all (knock on wood)... Since I can't go to work, and she feels fine I decided to go to the lake.... I only caught 5 bass, and they were nothing to write home about, and 2 flat heads... I spent most of the night, ( nearly 4 hours) sitting in a boat house hiding from storms... Maybe I will try again tomorrow....

Let me just tell you and the rest of the gang here, if you have the misfortune to come down with symptoms of COVID, get tested immediately and if positive get the anti vitals.... How effective they are is dependent on how early you start taking them... From what I understand, it's similar to how Tamiflu works against the flu, but you need to start it before your viral load gets too high.... Bottom line is that it can save you several days of feeling miserable, or even worse....

Thanks Doc. I had the first variant at Christmas time. So far so good since, but I did finally get a booster yesterday. It's the first time a shot ever left me with pain in the arm, the next day. Anti Virals, I'll remember that, thanks again.

I spent 8 days in the hospital months before they knew what COVID was, and my doctor swears that's what I had. I had one lung was 90 percent compromised and the other 10 percent... They did all kinds of testing, blood work etc, even went in and took samples from my lungs, they never could determine the cause.... I have issues to this day with memory loss and loss of lung function... If this new drug can prevent this by shortening the duration of the virus, I just hope people will pay attention and get tested early and take advantage of it.... I know first hand that all the politics and hype aside, this virus is not something to mess around with, I had one foot in the grave from it and feel fortunate to have survived...

Glad You survived Doc. I've been seeing ads for the anti viral stuff on TV. If needed the wife and I will definitely get it. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Hopefully people will pay attention.

I firmly believe that the Good Lord has a reason for me to be here, they tried to put me on a ventilator for three days before I stabilized and started to turn around. I firmly believe, and what's more, my doctor agrees with me, that if I had let them put me on the vent, I would not have came through it. I just knew (don't ask me how) that if I allowed that, I would not make it home.
You have to remember, this all took place before they learned that once they put a patient on a vent, thier survival rate goes way down... Fred, I wouldn't be so forthcoming about my personal health issues if not for the fact that so many people have bought into all the politics of this thing.... I realize people are privy to thier own opinions on the politics of it, and quite frankly I don't care, but all that aside, this virus KILLS.. Alright, I will get off my soapbox and try and keep my opinion to myself (like that will ever happen) and if just one person takes heed and gets through a case of this thing without it getting serious, it will be worth my rant...
