my first time here would like to find out fishing at stockade lake in custer state park
I used to live about 20 minutes N of there (in Hill City). Are you fishing from shore, or in a boat? The local bait shop should be able to give some valuable pointers as to what works. I wish I had better info for you, but it has been 30+ years. Good luck!

Hello John:
Not too sure how good the fishing is at Stockade Lake. But a short drive North of Custer to Sylvan Lake for some trout fishing. My brother and I caught 5 trout this past Monday from shore using night crawlers fished on the bottom. Hope this helps.
Pierre, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) have confirmed the presence of zebra mussels in Pactola Reservoir in Pennington County.
"We received an image of a possible zebra mussel that had been found on a pair of sunglasses while an individual was spear fishing in Pactola Reservoir," said Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator, Tanner Davis. "Upon further investigation via water sampling by BOR, free-swimming zebra mussel larvae, called veligers, were found in two of the four samples collected.”
