Been to Tapps and American Lake (boat fishing). Tapps didn't produce anything not even a bite. American Lake had bait size perch and blue gill. Caught one small rock bass (photo attached) as well. I'm looking for something a little bigger. If anyone has any tips, tricks, and good locations that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

American lake should have trout. Also try Clear Lake on the way to Eatonville for trout. Kapowsin and Ohop Lakes near Graham for warm water fish. Alder Lake for trout. Mineral Lake up from Orting for trout. The reservoirs on the cowlitz and Lewis rivers are good. Dozer Dave fishes Merwin. Cushman lake on Hood Canal is good for cutthroat and silver trout. Hope this helps. Pm me if you like.
This helps greatly, thank you.
I grew up on the south hill of Puyallup. My dad and grandfather took us kids fishing often. So these hints are from 45+ years ago. I hope they still apply. Send Dozer Dave a pm. There was also a guy from Tenino that posted from time to time but I haven’t seen him for a while. There are several salmon fishermen that post frequently. Salmon Addict for one. If you put yourself into the regional group near you, you should see when people in your area post.
Most of my relatives still live there. Maybe when I get back home we can meet up. However, nowadays it seems about the only time I get home is for a funeral 🙄. Keep in touch. Let me know how you do. The Stagers love pictures. They are great ego boosters when you do well and are sympathetic about slow days. If no fish, send scenery pics. Let me know if you get back East. We’ll see if we can wet some lines or at least share a meal and lie to each other😇

Sounds like a plan. I'll check with those you mentioned and I'll keep you in the loop of my trips. I'm originally from Las Vegas and there is literally only one place to go fishing. I've been up here in the South Hill area as well for almost 21 years. I've been using my inlaws boat as they don't use it too much anymore and I'm the only one who knows how to maneuver a trailer. My sister inlaw will use it for the fun aspect but I have to go with her which I don't mind at all lol. I really appreciate your input.
Thank you
Question answered. I read the post out of order. I grew up on 128th St. Between Meridian and the McMillan Reservoir. The Coast Guard moved me out in 1973. My brothers, cousins, nieces and nephews all still there. Wouldn’t it be funny if you knew them?
I do know some people here but more in Federal Way. That's where my wife grew up. I do cabinet service / warranty work for home builders. I know a few that work for Soundbuilt Homes and Tri-Point Homes (Quadrant Homes).
We’ll definitely have to chat sometime. The place sure has changed. I kind of get depressed when I see all my friends farms in houses now. Oh well. Progress.(?)
Go get a cowbell. Made by LesDavis I believe. Put about 16 in leader and tie a wedding ring spinner to it. Tip it with maggots and you’ll catch Kokanee and tip it with worms and you will get trout. Around VA hospital is a good spot. Good luck
