Hey Peek! Big congrats and gentle hug on the new heart. That's no small thing and you're lucky to get another shot. Before I was blessed to move back to Table Rock Lake, I lived a few years close to Lamar Lake in Lamar, MO. Based on what I could find on the web, you're very close to Holiday Acres Lake. Size is similar to the Lamar water, and your climate is similar to what we have here, so I'll share my experience from Lamar. Top 2 lures were natural color worm, rigged wacky-style and the Pop-R. Had best luck using lighter line and most fish were caught close to the dam. I can't tell if Holiday has a dam that's fishable, but that's where I'd start. And like everywhere else now, early morning and late afternoon/evening are best times. Best of luck, friend, with fishin AND livin!! 🎉

Try a #3 Mepps In-Line Spinner with a Silver Colorado Blade and a Purple Tail. You will have to order these custom from MEPPS as they are no longer available in any retail outlet. I used this lure in many areas of Missouri and Arkansas and it out-fished my fishing buddies every time. The trick is to start reeling as soon as it hits the water and keep your rod tip high so the spinner is making a wake. Turn your rod to the RIGHT and LEFT during the retrieve so the spinner makes a Zig-Zag pattern. You know if you got it right if the blade CLANKS at each direction change, that's generally when the bass will hit it. This works on large reservoirs and small farm ponds. Let me know if this works for you!!! Tight Lines!!!!!
