New to the area and learning the ways of salt water fishing. Picking up on a lot of it but still a lot to learn.

Welcome to the Stage Findingfish. Gordon is your man down in the Charleston area. He'll be along I'm sure. Until then, Good luck and Tight Lines!

You latch on to a nice 26" Drum F77, and you will be hooked on salt. Like Fred says, Gordon is your go to guy.

Welcome to Charleston. You got a boat or looking for places to fish from land?
Hello Welcome!
I am also in South Carolina and loved the lowcountry area. No better fishing anywhere! The person that can tell you where the fish are biting. If you're in Mt. Pleasant, you have several great from the bank areas. One of my favorites places in Mt. Pleasant is the "Pitt Street Bridge!" The second location is the "Mt. Pleasant Wharf" that extends 1,200 feet out. This wharf is awesome! Great views of Charleston and the "Yorktown!" There is also a fishing pier at "Shem Creek!" If you're downtown, try fishing from "Brittlebank Park or the Queen Street Pier!" If you have a boat, Gordon can direct you to the locations where he is catching large whitings, red and black drum, catfish, sharks, etc. Gordon posted some pics from his fishing expeditions last week. Good Luck! Be safe!
I was on my boat this morning just cruising around observing. Under the Ravenel bridge area and all the way up the Wando river.
Hardly anybody fishing. So I can’t report back. If anyone has some suggestions where in this area is hot right now? I’m going back out on Friday.

Fish the Charleston side of Castle Pinckney at high tide up in the grass fir some Reds. East side Drum Island in about 15 to 20 ft. for whiting. and up the Wando. Go under the 526 bridge and first creek on your left. Fish the docks just past the neighborhood boat ramp to the bridge for reds and trout.
Thank you Gordon. I will give these a go Friday and report back.
