I still have my salt stuff and would throw a yozuri long cast around the kelp and catch 20 to 30 bass a day. Then I trolled through and around the boats parked off la jolla. Caught a 10 lb calico on it. Would wait for the charters to move then swoop in and throw. Long Cast gets you places ordinary lures wouldn’t

Fished that coastline for many years. To the north try Cottons Point, to the south The La Jolla kelp beds. Coronado Islands is great, but a bit too far for a small skiff.
