I searched this Hot Water topic first.
Seems it was about getting into wife trouble. Can we start a discussion about hot water bass fishing? Favorite baits and retrieve techniques?

I have been Texas rigged, whopper popper, and hollowed bodied frog rigging. Slow, fast, and stop and jerk retrieve. A little spinner baits also. Never been so little action. Small stuff only.

Our water isn't that hot yet, just getting to 80° in most places. I'm catching most on unweighted TR Dingers, on the bottom under blowdowns, or off shaded banks, sometimes as deep as 15ft or so. Letting them squirm their way to the bottom, and then a twitch and go retrieve. They're still coming up shallow in the morning, and probably evenings as well but I haven't fished late in the day lately.

I've had good success as far as pounds and quantity in warm water (almost hot) using unweighted senkos on weed lines in the shallows. I can't say how many casts per bass but it kept me coming back. Sometimes I'd need to change colors a lot to find what worked . Plus, at no extra charge, find the color the gills like and use the same colors for the bass. Tite lines

Senkos and Dingers are similar correct.
I used something similar today, but dock fishing. I need to take the boat out, but it is hot on me also.
Thanks Ff and Tm.

Hey Jwid, wow I just returned from 4 days of kayak fishing, 2 days at Lake Havasu, 2 at Lake Mohave. Now when we're talking 🔥 yea we're talking 104* on up to 112* today! Water temp has to be mid 80's I'm guessing and I knew the Largemouth would be deep. I tracked some in 30 - 60' down deep and was trolling a deep diving sexy shad which gets down 15- 20'. Also threw a Jitterbug and Plopper early in some glassy coves and they just weren't there.
Not a hit in 4 days of fishing 5 - 7 hrs and I only saw a 14" Bass one day in very clear water that you can see down 20'. I always see them following my lures and plastics back but not this trip. Frustrating but I gave it my best and of course the jet skis are out by 9 -10 am stirring it up. These pics were today near Telephone Cove at Mohave.

Think I caught them at Mohave in the coves by vegetation. Otherwise everything was deep

Congratulations on being out there in those temps. Beautiful water. My lake gets really clear at times also. Stained a bit now which usually helps. I’ll have to go deeper. Thx

Yes they're stick worms, and fish the same way.You may have to move away from your dock area, to deeper water access. If the heatwave doesn't break, we have the full Moon coming up Wednesday. It may be time for a night trip. You'll figure something out Jwid, I know you will.

Fast retrieve might trigger lethargic fish.

The bite has been slow here also due to the warm water. My best luck has been a wacky rig fished very slow. I have been letting it sit on the bottom much longer than normal.

Keep these reports coming in.
I fish a small 880 acre Fellows Lake, MO
Lake was 92 yesterday.
Only fished an hour at dusk, shallow nothing.
Going to try some verticals, jigging this evening.

Tight lines

Fellows Lake, looked it up. Nice looking lake. Mine is only 60 acre. I see some big carp occasionally. Might head out with a can of corn and trade in bass fishing for carp this evening.

Last weekend water temperature was 83 plus, fishing was slow for us. Drop shot and ned rig. Left lake at 9am to hot no fun. Have to work next Saturday maybe Sunday morning try again.

Hey J - my comment would be like a broken record, but here goes. Honestly, the only spot I've had reliable luck with is around bridge piers. I'll line up basically facing the pier so I can cast past it, then fish close to the concrete. Pulling back and casting past then retrieving by the corner works well too. Strangely, tho, the numbers are better on the up-current corners. It's the combination of shade currents, and flopping around in jetski waves that gets em going. Our water is now in the lower 90s. Think I'll take some tartar sauce for mama, catsup for me, and just chow down boatside since they're coming out of the water fairly cooked. 😳
Crawdad pattern cranker, 7 ft down, natural worm, Texas-rigged, and brownish colored jig have all worked. I do miss fishin all my favorite spots, but the fishies have wandered off for summer.
