Tips for fishing Bolinas Lagoon?

Looking to get my 10 yr old out on some saltwater. We are new to fishing the SF Bay and nearby lagoons, any tips on bait and locations are much appreciated!

What part of Marin county are you at
There are quite a few places where you can park and fish 🎣 with a child and have easy access to the area
Horseshoe Bay is right next to the Golden Gate Bridge
Also you have Dillion beach on the coast and there are a few more places along the marin coast line that all have some beautiful areas and easy access for you and family
It all depends on how far you want to drive and how easy is the access

Thanks! I’m in San Rafael, with easy fwy access, and willing to drive. We’ll definitely try Horseshoe Bay, is it accessible from the Coast Guard station near the Discovery Museum?

Yes it is take the left turn next to the big tree follow the road around pass the launch ramp and then you make a right turn by the restrooms and up over the hump there’s parking next to the jetty
Also the same road that you take to Horseshoe bay if you go straight through the tunnel instead of turning down to the bay you can follow the road on other side of tunnel to Rodeo beach good perch fishing 🎣 from beach just stay to the left side of the beach to stay clear of the Surfers 🏄♀️

Try the pier in downtown Tibouron. Bring a Sabiki rig and a pier rod. Use what you catch for bait on the rig.. smelt or whatever you catch. The pier along the backside, north of Tibouron is the deepest spot in SF Bay. Salmon, steelhead, stripers and halibut.

The Pier is called Elephant Rock Pier that’s a nice 👍 Pier just not a lot of places close by to park

Great spot! We hit it up last night. Nothing big, just a Little Rock fish. But we didn’t get skunked. Haven’t tried the Sabiki yet!

Paradise Beach Pier — Tiburon is the other pier in Marin that’s very productive. Bring some heavier gear in the event you tie into something big.. like salmon. Run the Sabiki on fast retrieve, end weighted and hang on!!

Went to Bolinas Lagoon yesterday morning. My boy got a decent one! Using frozen herring, watching sardines at the surface all morning.

Good job 👏 nice leopard Shark 🦈 those are good eating when you get a legal one not sure you have a 36 inch fish 🐠 but still fun to catch they can give you a good fight 👍👍
