Hello- looking to do some summer fishing around Bloomington or Clinton, IL. Looking for whites, hybrids, stripers, catfish, etc. any suggestions for summer fishing and locations? I’m not too familiar with fishing during the summer and can use any tips. Thanks.

Around Clinton people have good luck around the spillway if you do not have a boat. Bloomington Lake Evergreen is pretty good

I appreciate it Hock. I do have a boat and in fact, I have the Bloomington sticker. Been out a time or two on Bloomington this summer with very little luck. Wasn’t sure if I was doing something wrong.

Evergreen lake has musky, largemouth, smallmouth, etc. 10 HP limit there.

Hell I am always wondering what I am doing wrong, ha. I fish between Clinton and Shelbyville, with Shelbyville being my favorite. I usually fish just crappie and everything is deep now with the heat. I get out about 5 in the morning to work the banks and then go to some deeper points. I have found the maps of the lakes provide you with some excellent details to structure and old roadbeds.
