Well guys we had a cloudy cool morning today so I got out and tested out my new shoulder,,, Not quite ready for prime time but I held out 3 hours. First fish was a dink maybe 14" but on my newly tied 7'3" medium heavy with a extra fast tip, it was a good fight. Second 18 1/4" fish was out deep off a deep ledge 17' falling off to 32', I had just told Suzanne "there should be a fish right here" barely got it out of my mouth thump. very hard fighter with a couple aerial displays it came to my thumb, nice fish. Third was a 20" beauty that was off a point in about 18' of water. I saw some kinda structure on the depth finder, back off about 30 ft, set the spot lock and made several casts to the structure. Pulled the bait across what felt like a limb and thump, almost took the rod out of my hand. Fought it out of the limb and up it came in dynamic vertical exit from the water. That fish probably cleared the water a good 4 ft. Played it down on that soft tipped rod and landed it from the drivers seat. I did have another heavy fish pull off but those guys don't count. Felt a slight twinge on the last hook set so I decided it was time to come to the house, pretty good three hours. I'll take it easy for a day or two and try again
