I caught nothing in 5 of 9 trips to Manasquan Inlet this year but caught and released 5 fish in 4 trips with Ava jigs. Looks like upriver is better than the inlet. There are too many fishermen, spear fishermen, surfers and boats at the inlet during the day time. I may stop fishing at Manasquan until after Labor Day.

American Littoral Society fish tag. You can get $1,000 for reporting a fish tag from the Hudson River Foundation. Always check your fish for tags. I caught a striped bass that was wearing a transmitter.

Nice to see weakfish in the mix, I heard they have been active in the back of the Manasquan Inlet. I hope they work their way up to Sandy Hook and Raritan Bay.
