My dad wouldn't loan me money for a muscle car. He told me I should get a cute little economy care like my brothers MG. So I got a little sunbeam. He had no idea to his dying day that it did not have a British 4 in it. Why I am still alive is beyond me. I traded it for an all expense paid trip to south east Asia. I got an old cutlass convertible when I came home, surfboard and all.

You had to look at what your interest’s where and the different cost levels, then pick the one level of $$ you could work with, that’s how I went about it

Yep. Definitely an over powered death machine. I may have been closer to death behind that wheel than I was in Nam

That is a beautiful 37!! Well done, you’ve had/have quite the collection,a bit of everything, fastest car I owned was a 67 Bug,fiberglass one piece tilt front end, glass rear fenders, deck lid, gutted interior/cage 2180cc with dual 48 Webers, straight cut cam gears, with a 90hp nitriois set up,Scat shifterRhyno tranny case with custom axles, sent V8’s home all night! No pics,I was to young to think about that stuff😂

Hey Rhyno the 37 is fast but in 68 we had a 40 Chevy coupe with a 409 Chevy bored to 421 inches 2 4s 4 speed 4:56 posi rear m&h wrinkle wall slick tires, scary fast. Got 3 miles to the gallon. Paid $2800. Love to have that back. W blocks are worth a bunch now!! Chevy made a 427 W motor back then but only big time drag racers could buy them. I worked for Chevy parts then and the parts book listed them as RPO Z11 no specs. Mystery motor.

I was blessed to drive a 2017 stang’ get with the same engine setup at a car show in KC back in 2017. The ford rep had me drive to a lonely side street away from the convention center. After having me stop and check my harness, he said okay now the street is yours, see what it’s got. I happily put the pedal to the medal and before the turbos had fully wound up I was fish tailing all over the street. I let off and he laughed and I checked my pants😆. He then asked me that delivery would be available later in September if I’d like to wear one of my own. Wow, what a great time driving that beast. He told me on the way back to the convention center that I had just felt what a wild horse felt like. I was in love ❤️ Attached a photo. I went back inside and the pretty girl working the ford display handed me a $500 rebate coupon for a new vehicle. We (wife and I) took the rebate and downloaded a $1000 rebate from farm bureau and got another $1000 rebate for attending the car show and got a $1500 additional dealer incentive on our brand new
2017 Ford Escape which we purchased the following week. It was a sweet deal for several reasons👍

Sounds like going to the convention center actually paid off! Yes,for a 4 cylinder the car is quick,I don’t beat on the car,it’s babied, but I do know it will light up those rear 305’s with no issues 👍
