Hey FF! So, a chapter in my book of life took me to exactly where you are. As a Missouri-born and raised guy, saltwater fishing was something I'd never done. Thankfully, I got to know a gentleman who took me out to learn. There I was with all my bass gear, sitting in a white boat going 70mph in water where I watched the bottom go by. That was crazy for this hillbilly! Sitting in the middle of intercoastal water where the shore was wayyyyyyyyy over there and I could jump out of the boat and stand up. THAT was a rush. My lesson came as we headed toward the mangroves. Beautiful stinky tree islands that offered cover that made me feel like I had viable targets to throw at. And snook quickly became my favorite fish to catch. This was nearly 20 years ago, but I remember them being sleek, tough and hard fighters. And it made my heart stop when they'd explode on my wooden topwater bass lures. I don't recommend that. Fish out there are unforgivingly strong and can beat up a wooden lure quickly. I was shown to throw spoons and inline spinner lures, especially if schooling fish were out. Best of luck to you!
