Hi everyone! Heading to the outer banks Sunday! Very excited our first time ( my son and I). I’d like to fish the ocean side off the pier, what’s biting and what are you guys using to catch them? Thanks for your help!!

Hey Hank, ask any local bait shop - I usually go to TW - been there long time and usually good on advice. DOT left the original south end of Oregon Inlet Bridge for fishing after they built new bridge. It's free, has parking and port-a-johns and probably the best fishing north of Haterss. Get down there if you have the time. Oregon Inlet is usually good for drum, sheepshead. Blues and the occasional flounder now. Best fishing is +/- hour of high tide. There's no lights on bridge so take lantern or light of some kind if at night. Been fishing Oregon Inlet for 30+ years and seen it change many times. Still can't believe NC left old Bridge for fishermen. It's about 15 minute drive from Kill Devil. Good luck and let others know how you do!
