Fred I think we sure all send a thank you card to the pharmaceutical n major oil companies for their willingness to bite the bullet n lower prices to help the working people. Oh wait what am I 🤔. Both are boasting about record profits. They know they have us n couldn't care less. Then I see all the spoiled brats that can't play sports for a million a yr. They need tens of millions. I heard that Grizz, I wish that the market was reflecting those profits. I've lost a lot of money since the beginning of the year.

Makes you wonder about entering retirement doesn't it? Worse now that i've been out going on 6 years now.

Just got to tighten the belt i guess. That is until they take that away too. Or tax me to wear one.

Luckily for me, I'm not a flashy kind of guy. I never wasted time or money to try and impress anyone. I'm actually a penny pincher at heart. Unfortunately food and gas are 2 things I can't control. I really don't want to go back to work in the winter, but I might have to, the way things are going.

It is getting nearly like the height of C***d days. Not going to nice restaurants and distancing ourselves from enjoying what brings us pleasure. Quite the similarity this gas / food crises and C***d.

I do have to disagree with that statement. Just remember when the price was low, and now it's very high, what changed?

I had to retire after an work related accident snapped a bunch of discs in my lower back in 07 and reinjured it worse last Summer with tripping over the boat trailer, Now I'm mending for another year to get back on the water to fish next year, if I take care to heal properly. I have never been an I got to have a fancy high dollar anything, I can fill a paint bucket with fish, using a cane pole, and homemade punch bait to catch my supper anytime. A milk carton of 4 to 6 inch Grasshoppers to bait out ,10 deep water jug lines have caught me 7 to 30lbs blue catfish or any fish that swims deep water channels will go for these delightful snacks. And my Jon boat cost near nothing with the 5hp outboard and two long life batteries and trolling motor last all day, when I don't want to take out the big bass boat. You don't have to be rich to catch fish, just know how that still gets my broke Social security pay check life all the fish I need to feed my family like king's. The love of catching fish and my family's joy chomping on the fresh wholesome fish warms my heart.

Companies and pro athletes making as much money as they can is nothing new. When Babe Ruth signed a contract for $100,000 and a reporter asked him how he felt about making more money than the President his response was, "I had a better year than he did." Money drives most decisions people make. People change jobs for more money all the time.

True G. I took a pay cut at the county to go to another dept. The stress relief was worth the pay cut brother 👍👍

not just gas going up, every thing is going up and often the packaging is getting less. gas up, housing up, building supplies up, food up, fishing supplies up. it seems like the only thing going down is my retirement account and the present administration's approval numbers

So true. We had to stop construction on our house because lumber, actually all building prices, have gone way up again.

Maybe by the time you heal up things will be back down to where you can afford to go. My boat is getting really upset not going fishing with me. $200.00/day to fish out of a boat ain’t in the budget right now. I only go one day a week in the Toyota Camry and it gets 35 mpg. Last year I went three times a week WITH my boat for the same amount I’m paying now for the Toyota

Exactly. When Oil Companies make record profits AGAIN by the way…

That in itself tells everyone who causes it. OPEC and the Oil Companies make record profits it’s obvious who is really behind it all. So everyone can fantasize at who is causing it all but it’s the Oil Companies and OPEC just like in 08 just like in 2000 or so. Gas was 99 cents a gallon here in 1999 we went to desert war and it went to 4.50 look up who was behind it both of those times just like every single time.

I read an interesting article that said we are getting close to the price where demand will take a big drop and this will trigger unprecedented inflation. I sure hope not but I have cut my fishing in half.

Your not the only one same with me about going out fishing and talking the boat out.I'm limiting it to twice a month now !!
Have a good week
