Hello, I’m new to the area and my 10 year old daughter LOVES to fish! Unfortunately, My fishing knowledge and experience is limited to putting a worm on the hook and my mom hoping I don’t catch anything (inner city, Chicago).
I would appreciate any advice on bait and locations. We’re on the north end of the lake and have a smaller speedboat as well. Thank you in advance!

I don't know your area, but here are some general suggestions: Call you wildlife department to find out what species are in this lake. While you are at it, find out about licenses, seasons etc. Check with a LOCAL tackle shop or marina for species, season, lures etc. Most tackle shops are happy to help a new fisherman. Spend some time on YouTube. You can literally learn to fish on YT. Good luck, tight lines and Happy Fathers Day.

I have found it useful going to new locations, or even learning new fishing techniques is to hire a local guide service to take you out. There is some interesting You Tube Videos I believe by Wired to Fish where one of the main lakes is Lake Egypt.
