We have them in our neighborhood in Tahoe

They truly are beautiful. Deep dark red and they come up in places that the snow stays the longest. ๐๐
I read about them it sounds like they are a plant that happens like Mushrooms do. So canโt just plant them
Wow I havenโt seen those plants since I used to camp in the El Dorado natโl Forest on the Bear River Reservoir those plants would be all over the side of the hill next to the camp site

They are special and of course pretty I never knew what they were called now I know the pictures you took are super nice ๐ great close ups
