Spent three nights camping at the Pine Valley campground and reservoir with my favorite pastime of trout fishing last week. did some fishing and catching. Caught my personal best trout this trip which was my 10th camping trip in 8 years.
I was using my recent go-to bait using a 3-inch Berkley Power Bait pink plastic worm. Have had success here and in South Dakota for Rainbow Trout.
Will be going to Custer, SD to spend a couple of months with my brother and a planned fishing trip at Deerfield over Labor Day weekend. Not to mention one or more days fishing before and after that.
Looks like a great place to camp. Beautiful view with trout right in front of you, doesn't get any better.
Beautiful thanks for the pics

I haven't been fishing at Pine Valley since I was a kid nearly 60 years ago. We used to catch all we wanted back then. Good to hear its still producing. I will make the trek when I semi-retire next year. Thanks for sharing especially your favorite bait.

Now there’s a place I would Camp!! Thanks for the pics Hc21
Nice looking Fish, can’t go wrong there.
I appreciate the tip regarding the 3” Berkeley worm. I wonder if it would work hooked in the middle “wacky worm” style. Perhaps if I ever make it out West again I get a chance to try it both ways. Thanks.

Thanks AzRando71. Will have to give that a try next year when I plan another trip to Pine Valley.
Hapycamper21: Please give it a try. If you fish for largemouth bass try a wacky worm rig. I use a Gary Yamamoto worm (4 or 5 inch) on a 1/0 circle hook. You don’t need much weight if any but a swivel 6-8 inches above the hook helps avoid line twist. Here in Central Florida Pumpkin or watermelon colors seem to work best. Good luck.
