Bruce, cant argue with that, takes patience, skill, and a bit of luck on that type of gear. Be careful with that Indians clothing, soon to be v e r y collectible.

I love UL fishing! My only concern is if I hook a big one I may exhaust them before I get them in and they may not survive a release.
They do make a 1lb bluegill feel like a 4lb bass, though πŸ˜‰

Thank you sir....give me an ultralight setup anyway. If your familiar with the tribe....I have good golf friend who played for them years ago. You might remember Lenny Barker.

OJ....I respect your concern. I honestly haven't encountered that situation but it's something to consider

At what point do you call 'ultralight'. I have a few 1000 reels, that max out with 6lbs test. I use braid, so the line is so thin, hard to tie a knot. It is only the size of 2lb test with 6lb test. I have brought to the boat a 35lb + gar to the boat with it, and that was really fun.

Absolutely,I have fished w/ultra lite gear for stream trout for years! Even those little brookies are a beasts on ultra lite gear! Never use more than 4lb test.

Do ya pronounce it sawx ? And a question no one can answer : why if Worchester is pronounced Woostah, is Dorchester not Dawsta or something similar ?
Just having a little fun here . . . Regional accents have always intrigued me, the most interesting part of my military years.

I've had huge strong catfish river rods set into pvc mounted holder's night fishing, capable of landing 50 to 70lb fish snapped in two before I could reach my pole, those you're catching I've caught as a child fishing farm pond's on my grandpa's 1960's 202 Zebco reels and rod's, so you had to learn to play your 8 to 12lb catfish in with wearing it out to land them. But I agree it's thrilling catching them with ultra light gear.

I caught a 22lb flathead catfish on a 5 ft ultralight ugly stick and a Lady President Pflueger reel. Ten lb braid and six lb flouro leader. Long tough battle but Oh what a thrill! Very impressed with the butter smooth drag on the Pflueger.

Pulling crank baits for crappie in Kansas.
