Bottom line the baitcasting reel is more comfortable to use than a spinning reel.Spinning reels are awkward compared to a baitcasting reel.

I couldn't imagine being without ether one but bait casters are my work horse.

It’s all a matter of what you are comfortable with. The only time I use a conventional reel is on a boat where you are just letting out line. All other times my go to setup is a spinning outfit.
