Saturday, around 2:00 A.M. I went to the bathroom as most old men have to do often, but
when I got back in bed, I had a feeling in my chest as if I had been trompt on by an elephant!
Try as I might I could not go back to sleep on the flat of my back. I then got up and moved
to the den where I could adjust my chair.
I tried to rest and wait until my wife waked up. Around 8:00 she gave me two Tylenol for the pain
but it didn’t help. So, we go back to Scott and White Hospital, who admitted me after a ton of
tests. They determined quickly it was not a heart attack, but were trying to puzzle what did
cause my intense chest pain.
It is now Sunday afternoon, and they think it was either a small clot in my lungs or fluid around
my heart. If a clot, was probably dissolved by the saline drip with blood thinner, and more likely
Irritation from the electrode of the pacemaker.
Last night was pure torture, before they were drawing blood every three hours, around 12;00
This was changed to every hour! Now, if this had been only one jab, it would have been more
tolerable, but that didn’t happen, to my count it took an average of 2 times per draw! This
morning both arms felt I had climbed a tall yucca cactus with a porcupine under each arm!
Yes, it sounds like I am a crybaby, and maybe I am, but was as close to “Death by a thousand cuts”
as I want to get. I just ask you to wait until you have had a similar experience.
Resting now and have hopes of going home tomorrow! Just Saying…RJs
Take it easy mr . Samples .hope you have a better night
I do hope and pray you recover quickly Robert.

RJS I sure hope you get to feeling better. Hospital stays are no fun especially when you’re the pin cushion. Prayers for your quick recovery and the doctors diagnosis. I have to say I love your analogy with the cactus and porcupines. 👍😁

FourchonLa; Not too long ago there was a post of someone who was chased by javelina and had to climb a segura cactus to escape. He had a lot of scars from all the needles. Just Sayin...RJS
I'm praying hard for you, RJ!
