Promised a friend and his wife I’d try and get them a few trout for dinner. My fishing partner and I headed out for an hour and a half drive to get to a mountain lake we know holds trout. Almost All of the holiday campers were gone, so was shaping up to be a nice quiet, and sunny day. Backed into the boat launch and got the Kayaks unloaded, and setup to head out. Then realized we weren’t the Only ones there planing on fishing.

Just a quick question Fred, we’re you able to download the video of the Pelicans? No one mentioned them, and they were cool watching dipdiving.

Yeah Ruff, they're cool to watch. I used to watch them fishing in the canals down in Florida.

I thought you were going to post a pic of a bear. Those geese are NOISY!! So how come there are no Canadian Geese in Canada? We didn't see one the whole week in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia, lol!

Nice limit of trout Ruff and beautiful lake! Pelicans can be a nuisance to fishing, I have seen them take a trout right off your line. Thanks for the post.

I’ve never had that happen bric, but while we were there ODFW dumped a new load of planters off the little boat launch and those Pelican’s were right there DipDiving. They must have learned to recognize an opportunity when it presents itself. And they were not the only ones. We did see one Bald Eagle 🦅 a couple times and a pair of Ospreys but I didn’t get an opportunity for a pic of those.
