My wife got me a cordless Bubba fillet knife for my B Day so I had to go fishing this evening to catch something to try it out. I’ve been an old school fish cleaner for a long time but boy’s I’m telling you this thing is the cat’s meow. Filleted them Reds in a hurry. There’s gonna be a little bit of a learning curve but I’ll get better with it. I was able to cut out the rib cages and my wife fried them up with some other pieces of the fish and we are very good this evening. Of course I had to get these two to be able to try the new knife out. 😎👍

Electric knifes are absolutely great to filet fish. You will enjoy it more the more you use it.

Nice catch and new toy El Rod. Glad it's working out well for you. I'm afraid I'd cut my fingers off before I realized it.

Fred, it’s like this old man I worked for a long time ago. He said” if all else fails, read the directions “😎👍

Those things are awesome aren’t they. I bought my boys each one and they love them. They said the same thing in the beginning but they got used to them real quick. Do you find the blades a little stiff? They did but now they’re used to them and said they’d never get anything else. I use an old sunbeam whenever I’m around electricity and I have a Berkeley electric knife that plugs into the power port in my pickup that works pretty good but it won’t rip through tough bones like that bubba does.

Nice reds El Rod, never used an electric knife but many tout their effectiveness.

Great looking Reds! The more you use the cordless knife, the more you'll like it. 👍

A happy belated birthday, El Rod. A couple of nice reds for sure. I have fished over a lot of Gulf Coast, from FL. to SPI, TX. and I have to say that I have caught more reds out of Port A than any other place. Now, I'm just talking reds, to clarify that statement.

Catfish, I don’t know if they are stiff because this is my first electric fillet knife. I’ve been sharpening and using regular fillet knives for many years. I’ve seen other fishermen and guides use the electric knives so I was curious. I priced them and thought they were too expensive so I never bought me one. I did almost as good filleting this fish as with a regular fillet knife so I’m gonna continue to use it. It does great cutting through the bones. After filleting the fish I cut the ribs out and the wife fried them up for me last evening.😎👍

And those reds do have tough bones, but not as bad as the sheepshead or the red snapper.

Flyguy, you are absolutely right. We have a tremendous fishery for Redfish in this area. I think it might have something to do with the Corpus Christi ship channel as being a great passage way for the Big Reds to migrate offshore in the fall. I like fishing for Specks also, and we do get some nice ones but those freeze’s we had the last two winters have hurt the stock so it’s
CAR until they recover. Thanks for the Birthday wish😎👍

Papa, I like it so far but I’ll review it after cleaning some more fish. It does take some getting use to😎👍
