Mine went up for Desert Storm and had only been down for repairs since. There is always one of ours walking into battle somewhere in the world.

I kind of like the ritual of running it up and down every morning and evening. And on certain occasions, like right now it's at half-staff. On a certain inauguration day, I flew it upside down, at half-staff.

Okay, it's my bed time, Saturday night. Tomorrow I'll wake up to memorial day. Sleep well, fallen heroes. We owe you a debt far more than we can repay. I wish that you could have come back home to your wives, your lovers, your families. It's ironic that we have to give up the best of us, but the worst of us don't have enough to give in order to pay for freedom. Thanks to you we're free, but we're less for having lost you. So dose mine.
We need to teach are grandchildren what the Red , White and Blue on the Flag really means !!
Because I don't believe it is been taught at their schools any more.
I have let all my Grandchildren now and keep reminding them.
May all my Fellow Brothers and Sister who served are still in the Military God Bless you all
