Hey everyone I’m somewhat new to the fishing world and I’ve been trying to increase my catch. I generally come back empty handed and I’m hoping with some guidance that can be changed. I typically target catfish I love the fight and I love the taste. What are some of the best areas to fish for these guys at and what are some things I should look for when trying to target them

Welcome to the stage Jay. Tons of Cat-fishermen and women on the stage. I am sure someone will be along to get you pointed in the right direction.

Near bends in the river the channel usually runs on the outside of the bend, anywhere near downed trees or logs in the water, “usually having a boat makes it much easier to fish near downed trees and stuff, as u can tie right up to the tree and drop your bait straight down basically” check laws in your state for using cut bait, bluegill and mooneye are my top two favorite cut baits to use. If u wanna go for some monsters most will use live bait, in which bullhead is my go to for live bait. But bluegill , green sunfish are def right there to. I prefer to use C hooks or also called octopus hooks. Size 8 ot hooks is my preference.. with these hooks you don’t set the hook, once that kitty hits it you’ll know and all you do is start reeling .. hopefully this helps

Hey thanks a lot. Unfortunately I don’t have a boat but I’m thinking of buying a fish finder for my rod just to get a general aspect of it
