Hopefully, you are familiar with the famous Winston Churchill quote I have used in the title! As recently as last night, I was made completely aware of my own mortality. Churchill was referring to the end of World War II and he was a superb wordsmith and orator. I couldn’t believe he had been turned out as Prime Minister of England in an election just after the end of that war.

I have always held the believe that if God had something for me to do, I would remain here living here on Earth. Anytime I quit, or was no longer doing his will, trying to be of real service, I would be called home.

There were several reasons. I have over the past few years had periods of dizzy spells, or vertigo and fallen. I jokingly said one of the benefits of playing football in high school was learning how to fall! While I have received several cuts and bruises, they were superficial and not any big worry. The other night I was going to the bathroom. On the way back, I could barely make it even to my den’s easy chair. I spent the rest of the night there. It bothered my wife and so we had to make a trip to the medical clinic today.

Because I have stage three or four kidney failure, along with both knees being replaced and these legs are not working very well, I have been using an electric wheelchair for the past year, and the end could easily be just around the corner! All my life I have made a real effort to try to see ahead and be prepared for it. This now seems like one of those times.

I have been a practicing Christian, baptized by immersion in the First Baptist Church of Saint Jo Texas when I was seventeen! I am not afraid of the future. While I have sinned, I also believe I have been, or will be forgiven. When I am sleeping, I often have dreams where family and friends often populate those dreams who have passed! No matter the end result , I know that Eternity will be a wonderful place for the Redeemed!

At 87 ½, I am not getting any younger, nor any more able to get around safely. I must face the absolute possibility of one day not waking up! That is the fate of all mankind and is inevitable! Now, if you haven’t made similar preparation, it is long past due. If you are not a believer and accepted Christ as the Son of God and asked him to forgive you of all your sins, and become reconciled to his control, It getting late.

If you have doubts, there is Pascal’s wager. You might take that seriously and determine that the choice of accepting the distinct possibility that God may exist and you put all your faith in that choice. Just Google it and give it some serious consideration. I know you believe in death absolutely, so as the joke or quip goes, your body dies, but your soul lives for eternity! What you have to be concerned about is location, location, location!

So, if some day soon, your ears are no longer ‘ragged’ with my stories, you will know I’m gone. I have no other choice, and neither do you. Just Sayin…RJS

Hopefully, you are familiar with the famous Winsto... (show quote)

For ALL those reading these words, know this. If you've been exposed to the Gospel of Christ and reject Him as your Savior, even if you say "Maybe not now." You MIGHT not get another chance.
Some people are exposed to the Gospel numerous times through their lifetime. SOME, only hear the good news ONCE.
When you stand before your maker HE knows if you've heard the Gospel and if you've rejected it or not.
I pray for all of you that don't know Christ as your personal Savior. For you've ALL heard the good news from several of us on here and the choice is yours, and YOURS alone.
A Brother in Christ, Steve.

Thanks for the heads up Robert. My Mom turned 93 in February. You’re still a youngster. 👍. She lives by herself, does her own cooking and cleaning. She had a pace maker put in a while back and that frustrates her to no end. She crushed a vertebra in her back when she was 89 helping her brother change a flat tire on his Jeep. She’s had hernia surgery, cataracts fixed, she can’t hear and she’s going blind in one eye. The eye, doctors won’t help her any more with her vision. Emacular degeneration. She said “I don’t mind going deaf and I don’t care if I can’t walk too good anymore, I’m 93, but going blind is a bummer. That’s gonna take some getting used to”😂😂. She quit driving about a year ago. She said everybody is starting to drive on her side of the road so she decided to just stay home or catch a ride if she needed to go anywhere. When she said she can’t travel at night any more I asked her why not. She said she can’t see good enough. I told her to just close her eyes and take a nap since she’s not gonna be driving anyway. She said”🤔you have a point. I’m gonna have to come with a better excuse now ain’t I?”

Well…. Y’all have just read a few excellent posts here (RJS, Steve, etc.) ALL they have said is the total “Truth”, straight from the lips of Jesus Christ Himself, who told us :

“Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:5-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/114/jhn.14.5-6.NKJV

Several of us have posted the simple plan of salvation in the past, but if anyone is still not sure how they can know
they are “saved”, please let one of us know and I/we can help you with scriptures that will tell you just what you must do. It’s very easy!
Living for Christ (aka being a Christian) does not mean every day will be rosey and perfect. It DOES mean God will be WITH you, and will help you through those hard times.
Also, to get to Heaven, it is NOT ENOUGH to just be a “good person” or do “good deeds”! You MUST :
1. Believe in Jesus Christ (and Him crucified and raised from the dead)
2. Confess and repent of your sins. (this means to ask God to forgive you of, AND then turn away from, your sins)

THAT IS IT !!

Once you have sincerely done this, the Holy Spirit will come into your heart/soul, and give you the strength and power you need to live for Christ. 🙏🏻

I forgot to include a scripture that tells us what to expect as we “live for Christ”.

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I forgot to include a scripture that tells us what to expect as we “live for Christ”.

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”

To ALL my brothers and sisters on the stage.
Listen, take heed and act.
For some this MIGHT be your last chance at salvation, I hope not though. I pray that we shall all be together again someday. However, for some I know we won't, and that is truly sad.

I think God will keep you around longer so you can keep telling us stories, narrations, and help keep us on the right path in life!
