Gunner I've never talked to anyone that had much good to say about the fishing there. They say it's a very busy lake. Too far for me to drive with those reports 👍

Fished Blue Marsh many years ago in the spring, one of the fingers (coves) was filled with submerged and standing timber. At that time it was an exceptional crappie lake but that was probably 8 to 10 years ago and I’ve not been down since. Pretty good crappie lakes quite a bit closer.

T a key me about an hour Griz, but if I can catch fish I'm good with that. Biggest thing is it doesn't have to be low power or electric like some of the lakes that are closer.

I kinda like the way DE does it. Any motor on any lake. They are just all no wake zones.

I know what you mean brother. That's how I finally decided on Bald Eagle. Unlimited just 45 mph speed limit. Good for all. Blue Marsh is 120 miles for me. Mostly interstate 👍

I live somewhat close to the lake, about 15-20 minutes drive. I mostly fish the stream feeding the lake which holds nice bass. The lake is busy, especially on weekends. My nephew also fishes the lake. We both use kayaks and catch bass. Lots of places to put in and places to fish from shore due to the size of the lake. The lake offers boater a lot of fun as well as fishermen. As far as the locals living 10 miles or more away, there are other options. A lot of fishermen know local farmers that have ponds which offer very good bass fishing as well as ponds located around the area open to the public, you just have to search them out. To drive some distance and spend a week as a vacation, there would be plenty to do in the area and enjoy the lake, but to make a special trip of an hour or so to just fish the lake, I’d look for other options. As far as what works, it's a big lake, use your favorite and try any spot.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question. We were there today from 8:30 till noon. We got 1 sunny between the 3 of us. I tried everything I could think of even different colors. Along the shore and in coves and deeper water. Don't think I'll try there anymore. I'm ready to hit the rivers. At least the brewery tour was enjoyable 🙂 .
