Wish I had gotten a video of it, but my German shorthair pointer always tells me where to cast, and it hasn’t failed yet. Today, we walked a long portion of lake Herman in Vallejo, we got to the end of the rock wall, which is a popular fishing spot, and finally she pointed at the long vegetation in the water. I casted out my ratL trap 3 times in that area, only to pick up a lot of vegetation on the hooks, then on the fourth cast, the dog still pointing, I thought I had gotten snagged finally. Thankfully it was a little largemouth, with that my dog helped me break my lake Herman skunk streak.

Germans always know how to sneak success. Looks like a great fish. I am 1/4 German and 100% American. Thanks for sharing.

I had a German shorthair named hildi . She would sleep with me at night and next morning be the best pheasant dog I thought in the world .. amazing dogs …

And we put out all that money for electronics and we need is a German shorthair. Finds fish and is a good companion.
