Man, I used to bounce out of bed, slug my coffee down my hatch, be the first one at the company gate, the last one to leave, run by the lake to go check my lines, haul fish in to clean, take a shower and revive like a mail horse, eat a good meal and spend time with the family, go work in the big vegetable garden watering and picking..take a few minutes reading my Bible then jump into bed to get 4 hours sleep and do it again.

Nowadays I'm just thankful I got up and made it to the coffee pot.

Nowadays the fish will just have to wait for me to get there with their play toys 🎣

Nowadays the only TV I watch is shows older than I am!

Nowadays the only time I run is my supper or someone yells Fire!!! Snake! or the shine is ready, just a sip 🤣

Nowadays I realize I'm no spring chicken anymore, but I'm going down swinging! I still want to play with the fishies, be a productive member of my family and community until they throw dirt in my face and cover up the hole.

Refreshing to see someone fess up to the vicissitudes of aging and not whine about it. Once ya face up to your mortality, it gives you freedom to live without fear and loathing, as Hunter Thompson would put it.
