Another beautiful hot and sunny day here at Lake Norman… you know what that means, fishing, ice cold beverages and even brought some beef jerky… oh yeah! Dan caught this monster White Perch using a Whopper Plopper top water in 6’ of water… that fish hammered that bait. I got some hits and missed a few but did land up catching some decent Spots…

Good job Duck, and Dan. I've caught Whites on crankbaits while bass fishing up here, but never on topwater. For that matter never that big either. Thanks for the pictures.

I don't know how many you caught that day but looks to be enough to start a meal.

Wow, thats the biggest one I have seen on LKN. this years the perch seem to be less available than in past years but that might just be where I am fishing. Are you see ing any shad schools, they are also rare tis year, that bothers me.

We have not seen any shad schools on top, we have marked several balls of bait fish 10-15’ down in the big coves on our last trip

You can usually find me and Dan around channel marker D10 at some point while we are out… it usually produces a fish or two…

We fish the same waters. I'm centered around D7 and west from there. I always fish the coves in the deep water side.
