Headed up to the big lake

I’m going to Lake Erie in the morning. There are a few of the guys from my bass league going up so my buddy and I said we’d tag along. Buddy just got a 2020 deep v ranger so we are gonna hit the bass for a bit then hopefully cast for some walleyes. If that doesn’t work we will break out the planer boards. I’ve been on a few charters that used them. But this will be first time actually setting it all up. I’m excited as well as a little nervous but it sure beats working. I’ll post pics tomorrow if we do any catching.

Bassattacker: Hey man, post some pictures whether you catch fish or not. Some of us flatlanders in the south would enjoy seeing 'big water' lakes and you using your gear. Just Sayin...RJS

They are simple to use. Watch a u tube video if you feel unsure. Set the outside planners the furthest from the boat and get incrementally shorter as you move towards the center. The trick is clipping just enough line to keep the planners running but not so much that they don’t pop when you catch a fish. You can each have 3 rods trolling on Erie so it’s hard to beat trolling. Your covering a 60 ft wide section of water as you move.
Good Luck

Good luck BA, I hope you guys find some of both who want to play. I've never caught a Walleye, this might be my year.
Tight Lines, and we'll be looking for the pictures.

Good luck BA, I believe there was a post last week they are in about 35’ of water.
Drifting with weight forward spinners like an Erie Dearie with a night crawler is always a go to as well.
Last estimate I heard there was only 100 million walleyes in the Western Basin, so I like your chances 😂
