Hey Ladies and gentlemen, I learned a new word today. It is “Radaph.” It is a Hebrew word found in the psalms in the Shepherds Psalm 23. The blessing at the end of the Psalm where it states “surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life…”
Radaph is the word translated to “follow me.” In the Hebrew the word means much more, it literally means to pursue or chase after. Very literally it is saying, “surely goodness and mercy will pursue or chase after me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
I’m sure not everyone will care about this entry, but for all those hurting from loss or injuries. I hope it blesses your day. This is the God I serve. Take heart and be of good cheer!!!

Thank you HosChap, the bible has so much more to tell us than we can understand not knowing the languages it was translated from. I take comfort knowing someday on another plane i will understand when I meet Him.

That’s a great post HC!
I’ve found a lot of enlightenment (for lack of a better word) from Strongs Exhaustive Concordance. It has “literal” translations of every word (Hebrew in Old Testament and Greek in New Testament) contained in the Bible. For years I used the paperback book version, but have since downloaded it (for free) on my phone. You can also look up any scripture by knowing only one key word of the scripture. I love it!
Here is an example of the word you mentioned.

Hebrew: רדף
Transliteration: râdaph
Pronunciation: raw-daf'
Definition: A primitive root; to run after (usually with hostile intent; figuratively (of time) gone by): - {chase} put to {flight} follow ({after} {on}) {hunt} (be under) persecute ({-ion} {-or}) pursue (-r).
KJV Usage: pursue (74x), persecute (20x), follow (18x), chase (13x), persecutors (7x), pursuer (6x), follow after (1x), flight (1x), misc (3x).
Occurrences in Bible: 143
Occurrences in verses: 135

And you will, or in the presence of Christ you may not care.

👍 Amen!
You may already use Strong’s, but many may have never heard of it. An awesome “tool” for sure. It is definitely a huge help for me. Don’t know how I lived without it years ago…. 🙏🏻

Bless you Troy, I’ve had a lot of loss. But the Lord is always faithful to see us through.

Amen been there Hos BUT had it not been for the Lord who is always on my side I would be lost. So many times when mine enemies try to eat up my flesh He was and yet still is. I know things get hard and God promised us that it would but he would always be there for us. I am yet grateful for his love and in the time of trouble he shall hide me in the cradle of his arms where I am safe. Thank you so much for your prayers

The Bible is like an onion—layers upon layers. We start out on the outside. As we mature we get deeper and deeper. The same passage that we read as a new Christian has a deeper meaning as we mature. And as we continue to mature the same passage reveals deeper and more intricate meaning. The more we read and understand the more is revealed. Sadly a lot of Christians fail to progress beyond the first couple of layers and therefore fail to enjoy the wonders embedded deeper. I don’t think even some of the most revered theologians ever reached the center of the onion. The milk we drink as new Christians is pleasant and exciting but cannot compare to the flavors of the meat we enjoy farther into our journey into the word.

Thanks. Every thing about Christianity point to the glory and supremacy of God. A quick example can be found in the Ten Commandments. Let’s look at the Third Commandment: “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.” Many, if not most, people assume that means don’t curse. But let’s go a little bit deeper. As Christians we have taken our Heavenly Father’s name. But if we steal(8th), lie(9th), kill(6th), etc., we have dishonored our Father’s name(5th). So if we lie we don’t just break the ninth, we break the third and the first, as we have put ourselves above God.

As I stated in my original post, what seems simple and straightforward has many lessons to be learned. As we mature we see more and more. 1 Corinthians 13:11

Please don’t let my preaching make me seem like I am holier than thou. Far from it. I am probably one of the worst offenders created, and will probably be judged harsher because I know better, so I covet (10th?) all your prayers. Romans 7:15-20. Thank you.

That’s good stuff, Gm.
I heard a sermon not long ago by Robert Morris that was similar to your post. He’s one of my favorite preachers on TV. I usually catch about 5 of his sermons each week. Great preacher/teacher!
